Getting legal advice
We have an improved offer of free legal advice for 2021!
Free legal advice is available to Hospice patients, their immediate family members, and Hospice staff members and volunteers, via our Legal Surgeries.
Previously, our Legal Surgeries were held on the last Wednesday of each month and involved a free 20-minute face-to-face discussion with a visiting legal adviser. The pandemic has dictated a change to the way our Legal Surgeries operate, so contact with the legal adviser is now by telephone rather than face-to-face, initially at least. In addition, for 2021, they will no longer be held on one specific day each month. Instead, one of our supportive local legal practices will be nominated as the “Legal Surgery Adviser of the Month” and will take calls requesting advice at any time throughout that month.
Burnett Barker is our first Legal Surgery Adviser of the Month. They will take calls throughout February 2021 and their contact number is 01284 701131. You will need to ask for Wills and Probate lawyer Henrietta Brett and specify that you are taking advantage of St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Legal Surgery offer of free legal advice. If you prefer to make your initial approach by email, Henrietta’s address is email@example.com
As before, most of our supportive legal advisers are Wills and Probate specialists but, in most cases, they will be pleased to refer you on to a colleague if you require advice of a different nature.
Further information regarding Legal Surgeries for 2021, if required, is available from Legacy Officer, Nick Duncan, by calling 075 4565 7216 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
