Free legal advice

An offer to Hospice users from local law firms

Free legal advice is available to Hospice patients, their immediate family members, and Hospice staff members and volunteers, from our St Nicholas Hospice Care goodWill Legal Advisers.

While the world generally learns to live with Covid, as a healthcare facility caring for some of the most vulnerable people we are still having to minimise footfall within the Hospice building.  For the time being, at least, initial contact with the legal adviser will continue to be by telephone or video conferencing and our “Legal Adviser of the Month” will take calls requesting advice at any time during that month.

Our Legal Adviser of the Month for July is Ashtons Legal.  Mandy Francis may be contacted throughout July 2022 on 01284 727049.  When you call, please specify that you are taking advantage of St Nicholas Hospice Care’s offer of free legal advice and Mandy will find a lawyer to help with your enquiry.  If you prefer to make your initial approach by email, Mandy’s address is

If, after the initial consultation, you decide that you need further advice and assistance, the legal adviser will explain to you their usual fees for accepting your instructions and taking the matter forward.

Although most of our supportive legal advisers are Wills and Probate specialists, in many cases they will be pleased to refer you on to a colleague if you require advice of a different nature.

Further information regarding the legal help offered to Hospice users is available, if required, from Legacy & In Memory Lead, Nick Duncan, by calling 075 4565 7216 or emailing
