Getting financial advice
A new offer to Hospice users from local financial advisers
We are pleased to announce that four local financial services / wealth management companies have indicated their willingness to offer to Hospice patients and their immediate family members, and to Hospice staff and volunteers, an initial financial review discussion free of charge.
There can be many reasons why you might wish to seek professional advice about your financial situation, including retirement planning, tax-efficient giving and end-of-life planning. And, if you’ve recently lost your life partner and are having to deal with financial matters yourself for the first time, you’ll almost certainly welcome some professional guidance and support.
Our four firms will be available to give advice on the topics listed below on a rota basis throughout the year. Each month we’ll advertise on this page the “Financial Adviser of the Month” and their contact details so that you’ll know who to contact whenever you need help. All four firms are able to offer advice on the following matters:
- Investment management
- Family protection / insurance matters
- Pensions / retirement planning
- Lifetime tax planning
- Estate and Inheritance Tax planning
- Planning using Trusts
In addition, most firms are able to offer specialist advice in terms of planning for long-term care, and for the elderly and vulnerable.
In order to fully understand your financial situation, advisers will need to dedicate at least 45 minutes to each review discussion, and possibly longer depending on your circumstances. Meetings will take place initially by telephone or video-conferencing. After the free initial review, if you require additional advice and wish to appoint the adviser to help you, the adviser will explain to you their normal charging structure.
The Financial Adviser of the Month for February is Thomas & Young Wealth Management Ltd. Graeme Thomas can be contacted on 07557 400994 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If Graeme is unavailable, please contact Practice Manager Louise Wall on 01284 334400 or via email at email@example.com.
Additionally, to those requiring advice on the management of sums in excess of £100,000 – for example, recently bereaved families and beneficiaries in receipt of substantial life insurance pay-outs – bespoke investment and asset management advice is available all year round from JM Finn & Co. For an initial 20-minute discussion to determine if this service is suitable for you, please contact Neville Horn on 01284 770700 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
