The Garden of Life
The Garden of Life is a peaceful and tranquil outdoor haven in the heart of Haverhill.
When it opened in 2014, the garden saw a neglected open space next to the hub transformed into an accessible garden for patients, carers, groups which use the centre, customers who use the Haven Café and members of the community. It was funded by £50,000 won by the Hospice in the People’s Millions competition, in November 2014.
The garden features raised beds, quiet areas, accessible paths, a pergola and an ironwork structure originally from Burton Cottage, which stood at the site before the centre and library complex was built.
Maintenance of the garden is undertaken by a group of enthusiastic volunteers.
