Jelena Sarubina, Director of Corporate Services

Our Corporate Services Director, Jelena Sarubina, joined St Nicholas Hospice Care in February 2022 from Vision Norfolk, previously known as the Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind.

Having spent three years at Vision Norfolk as their Corporate Services Director, Jelena’s previous roles saw her work for the Royal Mencap Society as a service manager.

Originally from Estonia, Jelena started her career in finance in the hospitality industry and continued to work in commercial settings.

When she relocated to the UK, Jelena decided to undertake a degree in social work. However, having qualified at a time when cuts were being made to the system, although she thoroughly enjoyed the degree and her placements, Jelena’s professional journey took a different turn. This was when the opportunity to join the Royal Mencap Society presented itself, a job Jelena felt she could make a real difference by doing. She has also worked as a consultant, providing financial advice and HR support on various matters.

Jelena’s role as St Nic’s Corporate Services Director is a newly created one for the charity, and sees Jelena lead and be responsible for the majority of the Hospice’s support services. These are made up of Human Resources, Finance, Facilities, and Corporate Services, including Governance, Procurement, IT support, and management and Data Analysis teams.
