Love gardens? So do we.

Every summer, gardens across our communities open their gates to help raise vital funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care giving people the chance to enjoy beautiful outdoor spaces while supporting local patients and families.

From our much loved Hidden Gardens of Bury to inspiring supporter-led open garden events, there are plenty of ways to enjoy gardens that give back.

The Hidden Gardens of Bury

The Hidden Gardens of Bury returns on Sunday 14 June, and will see a huge variety of gardens, often hidden from view, open their gates in a bid to raise funds for the Hospice.

The event gives people the chance to discover secret patios, lawns, borders, vegetable gardens, greenhouses and much more. With a wide variety of gardens open, be prepared to be surprised and inspired by the hidden gems of Bury St Edmunds.

Thetford Open Gardens

Returning for its 20th year, Thetford Open Gardens promises a delightful celebration of horticulture, community spirit and charitable giving on Sunday 28 June.
Visitors can explore a diverse collection of 38 gardens scattered throughout Thetford and Croxton, from established favourites to exciting new additions.

Sudbury Open Gardens

Sudbury Open Gardens returns on Saturday 13 June, with gardens across the town opening their gates to the public in support of St Nicholas Hospice Care.

The event offers a chance to explore a wide variety of gardens, ranging from formal landscaped spaces to creative courtyards.

Cavendish Open Gardens

On 6 and 7 June, around twenty gardens will be open in Cavendish, a quintessential English village with a much-admired village green, pink cottages and a historic church.

Refreshments and light lunches will be available, as well as a raffle and stalls selling plants.

Sturmer Open Gardens

Sturmer Open Gardens will return on Monday 25 May, raising funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Last year’s first opening was a great success, raising £560 for the Hospice with the help of local volunteers and members of the WI. The WI will once again be serving teas and cakes in the village hall throughout the day.
