Frances will reach dizzying heights for St Nic’s

A fundraiser will have her head firmly in the clouds when she tests her nerve by taking on a skydive in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Hospice Nurse Frances Flynn, who works on our Sylvan Ward, will be testing her head for heights when she takes part in the charity’s Skydive Day, sponsored by Hugh J Boswell, later this year.

Frances, who has been a nurse for more than 30 years, says completing the skydive will be her biggest challenge; she said: “The work we do at St Nic’s is challenging but also a privilege. We support both patients and families at a very difficult time.

“We also encourage laughter with our patients and try and organise small events for them, whether that is a pizza night or an afternoon tea, to be able to share with loved ones. It is also amazing to hear of all the support and donations that families do give us.

“So hopefully, the money I raise can go on providing those little extras that our patients and families really appreciate.”
