Receptionist/Administrator
St Nicholas Hospice Care is a local charity providing help, advice and support to people in West Suffolk and Thetford in the final chapters of their life, who are living with long-term and life-threatening illnesses. Our services are not just for patients, but for their family and friends too. They include everything from specialist medical care to bereavement support and practical help. St Nicholas Hospice is dedicated to its vision for everyone to matter in life and death.
We are looking for a Receptionist/Administrator to join our Reception Team. The Reception team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our services. As the first point of contact for visitors to the Hospice, this role is key to providing a warm welcome for all who attend our main site. Whilst a good understanding of all ‘front of house’ functions is essential, an understanding of our administration service as a whole is also required, in order that support can be provided on a flexible basis, where needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent
- Experience of working in a clinical/health care setting with SystmOne, not essential but preferred
- Administrative experience in an environment that requires the use of both manual and computerised administrative systems
- Experience in talking to members of the public, healthcare professionals and staff from other organisations on the telephone and in person
- Experience of dealing with telephone enquiries on sometimes difficult and sensitive issues
- Be able to work flexibly and co-operatively as part of a wider team
