Palliative Care Out of Hours Clinical Nurse/Paramedic Specialist – Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) – FIXED TERM 12 months
An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a Palliative Care Out of Hours Clinical Nurse/Paramedic Specialist to join our Community team, here at St Nicholas Hospice Care.
St Nicholas Hospice Care is an independent charity, providing palliative and end of life care across West Suffolk and Thetford, both in the community and at our Hardwick Lane, Bury St Edmunds site. Our vision is: Everyone in our communities has choice, dignity and support when facing dying, death and bereavement.
Would you like to be part of pioneering service expanding the Out of Hours provision for specialist palliative care services supporting patient’s across West Suffolk and Thetford.
We are looking for a driven clinician with significant autonomous specialist palliative care community experience from a Nursing or Paramedic background to work alongside a Healthcare assistant out of hours.
(Non- Medical Prescriber with Advanced Clinical Assessment skills would be advantageous but not essential).
With experience in Specialist Palliative Care you will be able to support patients where they call home, provide a robust clinical assessment, support timely symptom control, prescribing where needed (if applicable).
(Clinical support is provided out of hours).
This is a fixed term (contract hours negotiable) working 20.00-08.00 across 7 days per week.
30 hours per week plus additional hours available.
Working alongside the Early Intervention Team within West Suffolk Hospital out of hours to facilitate an effective response and to those with unmet palliative care needs.
You would be joining a passionate and committed team, supporting a seven day a week community service, delivering often complex symptom control, emotional support and family education. Working as a part of an integrated team you would work closely within a broad MDT, including our medical team, Allied Healthcare Professionals and Psychological Support.
