How much sponsorship do I need to raise?

The Sunset Walk is following in the footsteps of our Girls Night Out event, and we are really excited to bring this event to our local community.

You are needed more than ever! The registration fee only covers the cost of putting the event on. We’re asking everyone who signs up to come together and pledge to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship each. This will help provide the essential care and support that the local community needs, when they need it most.

Don’t worry, our expert team are on hand to help you with top fundraising tips and advice to help you reach your target! We suggest that you set up a JustGiving page to share your fundraising to your friends, family, and loved ones.

What happens on the night?

The Event Village will be open from 4pm, where food and drink will be available. There will also be stalls in the event village and music, to really soak up the atmosphere and build up excitement. Before the walk sets off their will event announcements, followed by a warm-up from the Zumba Chickz.

The walk will commence at 6pm, just before, we will count you down and send you off! Along the route there will be refreshment stops, loos and live music. Throughout the route make sure you spot the special QR codes to see the incredible impact your fundraising makes with stories and videos from those who have received care from the Hospice. There will also be an opportunity to place your lantern in the Remembrance Garden at the Hospice.

As you head back into the Abbey Gardens, once you cross the finish line, you will receive your well-deserved medal.

What are the lanterns?

Included in your registration fee, are paper bag-style lanterns.

In order to protect wildlife or property – these lanterns won’t be released at all, but placed simply in our Remembrance Garden at the Hospice on the night and after the walk, these will be collected up and recycled.

Can I bring my dog?

Only guide dogs are accepted; no other pets or animals are permitted to accompany walkers or marshals.
