Andrew – shop volunteer
Why do you volunteer at the Hospice?
I was made redundant from ASDA last October and I was always really involved with the Hospice through them. I couldn’t think of what to do when I left ASDA so I came to the shop to volunteer. I know a lot of people at the Hospice so it seemed like the obvious next step, especially as I’ve always been in retail.
What do you do at the shop?
I work on the till and on the shop floor.
Why do you enjoy it?
It’s a great place to meet new people and through my work I’m giving something back to the community and the Hospice. There’s a great mix of people here.
Why would you recommend volunteering?
You get a great sense of achievement, and a good feeling knowing that you’re giving something back.
