Can your business turn £50 into thousands?

The Accumulator Challenge, which sees businesses battle it out to raise as much as possible for the hospice, is back this summer.

The three-month challenge kicks off on Thursday, 13 June, when each business signed up to take part, is handed a £50 note and charged with turning it into as much money for the hospice as possible.

Over the years, creative money making antics have included, family fun days, gala dinners, long distance walks, long driving adventures and doughnut days while more traditional fundraisers – such as cake sales and quizzes – have also proved very successful.

Since the first Accumulator Challenge in 2010, the hard-working firms taking part have raised thousands for the hospice, with last year’s challengers reaching a grand total of £30,092.59.

Hospice corporate fundraiser, Rachel Card, is hoping to persuade as many businesses as possible to take part in a summer of fun and fundraising.

She said:

“For me, the Accumulator Challenge really is the highlight of the summer and I am looking forward to another packed three months of competitive fun.

“Last year, 40 businesses took part in raising much-needed funds. The challenge is also a great team-building exercise and business networking opportunity.

Every penny raised will help the hospice to support those across our community living with dying, death and grief.”

1 Accounts Online, practice manager, Jade Donno, said:

“Paul Donno’s company won the first ever Accumulator Challenge, with this in mind it seemed fitting for Paul’s company, 1 Accounts Online to be the sponsors for the 10th Challenge.

“Having to make as much money as you can from £50 is a great test for businesses and raises money for an amazing charity. It is great fun and we can’t wait to see all the fundraising ideas.’’

The businesses taking part will compete to win the top fundraiser prize, with other accolades also presented at a special awards night on 3 October.

Read more and register your business by Thursday, 13 June.
