Dr Pat Murrell returns with the latest in her series of popular lectures, Step Back in Time, in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Sold out when given in 2019, Pat Murrell repeats this popular lecture to mark the 80th anniversary of V.E. and V.J. day.

When war was declared in 1939, it was hoped that it would all be over by the following Christmas. Sadly, it was not. Join Pat to hear how people in East Anglia celebrated successive festive seasons despite the continual horrors, heartbreak and hardships of the Second World War.

Refreshments included in the ticket price produced to WWII recipes with food rationing in mind.

Should any members of the audience wish to participate by dressing to match the occasion, please feel free to do so.

This event takes place on Thursday, 18 December at 8pm (doors open at 7.30pm), at the United Reformed Church, Whiting Street, Bury St Edmunds.

Previous events have sold out, so advance booking is essential.
