Fundraising ideas

Do you need a fundraising idea to get you started? Here’s a list of some of the most popular and tried and tested ways to raise money.

Get quizzical. Quizzes are always popular and a good way to gather attendees for your event. Ask your local pub landlord, hire your village hall or simply gather a large group of friends to take part. Ask local contacts to donate prizes to draw attendees and charge for their entry fee per team or per person.

Who doesn’t love cake? Bake some cakes and ask your friends or family to bake and donate their offerings. A good cake sale at your work place or a local fête can easily raise £50, so ask your employer for permission, promote it and then sell, sell, sell!

Just the ticket. A raffle can be added to any event to give your fundraising a boost. We can supply a confirmation letter to reassure prize donors that your raffle is legitimate.

Hospice’, I mean ‘house’! Two little ducks or keys to the door, anyone could be a winner at a bingo event. Seek out donated prizes or use percentage of the entry fee as a cash prize – however you decide, everyone is sure to have a ‘top of the shop’ time! Contact the Fundraising Team who can loan you a bingo kit and provide posters.

Ticket events. Organise pay-to-attend events like; dog walks, games nights, discos, balls and car meets – the list is endless. These events can include an auction, a raffle and competitions.

Dinner party and auction. Food glorious food! Another firm favourite. Theme it, add donated silent auction prizes, include a wine tasting and even sell tickets for the event – food and fundraising are always a great combination.

Car boot/yard sale. The perfect way to de-clutter and raise money at the same time. Get friends involved, clear out your loft, garage and cupboards. Colour code for pricing, then print out posters and post on Facebook. Invite your street or whole village for an even bigger turnout.

Home shopping party. So many companies will donate your commission payment to the charity of your choice, so send out your invites, host a party and have a great evening.

Spick and span. We all own a car that needs some tender loving care. Gather your buckets and sponges and offer to wash cars in return for a cash donation. Remember more volunteers means more cars washed and money raised.
