A Christmas together that meant everything

Last Christmas, Anne was receiving care from St Nicholas Hospice Care after her cancer had returned and spread.

As Christmas approached, Anne was able to return home. With support from the Hospice team, Anne and her family shared gifts, watched favourite films, enjoyed Christmas dinner and spent precious time together.

For Anne’s family, Hospice care meant more than clinical support. It helped make space for them to simply be a family again.

Anne's Story

Anne was a much-loved mum, nurse and friend. She loved walking, music, village life, time with family and the simple routines that make a home feel full of life.

When her cancer returned and later spread, Anne and her family faced the hardest of journeys. Throughout it, St Nicholas Hospice Care was there with care, reassurance and compassion.

The family’s story includes an extraordinary moment. Anne’s youngest son brought his wedding forward to New Year’s Eve so Anne could be there. The Hospice team helped make that possible.

Every family’s experience is different, but expert, compassionate care can make an enormous difference during the most difficult days.

Last year, St Nicholas Hospice Care supported 253 patients and their families over the festive period, providing care and support when and where it was needed.
