35 stories for 35 years: The Tree of Reflection

The Tree of Reflection, a forged stainless steel sculpture was installed in the Hospice’s Garden in March 2015.

The tree is dedicated to the memory of Fred Grimsey. His family raised £10,000 in his memory and wanted to leave a long-lasting legacy, which would continue to help the Hospice for years to come.

The tree was crafted by Nigel Kaines, of Designs on Metal, a Suffolk-based team of experienced metalworkers and blacksmiths.

Nigel has worked on high-profile local projects, including the St Edmund statue on the Risbygate roundabout, in Bury St Edmunds. Thanks to using a local team, our memory tree design is unique among all hospices.
