Domestic Aide

St Nicholas Hospice Care is a local charity providing help, advice and support to people in West Suffolk and Thetford in the final chapters of their life, who are living with long-term and life-threatening illnesses. Our services are not just for patients, but for their family and friends too. They include everything from specialist medical care to bereavement support and practical help. St Nicholas Hospice is dedicated to its vision for everyone to matter in life and death.

The domestic team is responsible for undertaking cleaning tasks in line with the agreed cleaning programme and specific daily work schedules to achieve and maintain standards of cleanliness across the organisation adhering to all relevant policies and procedures. We are recruiting a Domestic Aide to join our Facilities team, to work 30 hours per week.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have previous experience of commercial cleaning (minimum of 6 months)
  • Have the ability to work unsupervised and independently
  • Follow cleaning schedule but use initiative to vary schedule where it is necessary
  • Show consideration to patients and relatives
  • Be a Team player
  • Be committed to maintaining high standards of service
  • Possess flexibility to work additional hours and to attend department meetings/ provide cover for colleagues
  • Have basic level of literacy and numeracy

Contract details
Permanent role, 30 hours per week
£19,625 pro rata per annum
