Skechers Performance confirmed as 10K Run sponsors for 2024

St Nicholas Hospice Care is pleased to announce that its 10K Run, which will return for the second time on Sunday, 29 September, is now being supported by main sponsor Skechers Performance.

With more than 200 people already planning to be at the start line, excitement is building as the charity looks forward to the occasion, which in its first year last year raised an amazing £18,000 for the Hospice which supports those across West Suffolk and Thetford facing dying, death and grief.

Charlie De-Moore, the charity’s event organiser, said: “We are so pleased that Skechers Performance has agreed to be the main sponsor for 2024’s St Nicholas Hospice Care’s 10K Run. To have them on board is amazing, and their generosity means that even more will be raised for the work that we do across the community.

“We are so pleased that so many have already signed up to take part in this year’s event, but we would love to see more people at the starting line. Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking to improve your personal best, or perhaps a novice looking to complete their first running challenge, we’d love for you to join us on the day.”

The 10K Run, will see runners set off from Angel Hill and make their way through the Abbey Gardens to follow a circular route partly held on closed roads, up towards Moreton Hall and back.

An event village on Angel Hill will give runners and supporters a lively atmosphere before and after the race. Music can be enjoyed, and there will be various stalls to explore.

All finishers will receive well-deserved medals and post-race refreshments. A dedicated water stop will also be available at the 5k mark to ensure runners remain hydrated throughout the challenge.

“Last year the event’s atmosphere was amazing, and we are looking forward to exactly the same things this year. Our wonderful marshals will be along the routes cheering people on and a warm reception will be waiting for people at the finish line,” added Charlie.

There will also be trophies for those competitive runners, and an exciting running-themed prize for the top fundraiser. The run will be chip-timed by an external company, who will endeavour to have results live shortly after the event.

You can sign up for the Hospice’s 10K Run here. Registrations are £25 each.

If you’d like to volunteer and support the event as a marshal, or are interested in having a stall in the event village, please contact events@stnh.org.uk.
