Chelsea’s day of beauty raises funds

A pop-up pamper event proved a hit as fundraiser’s efforts resulted in hundreds of pounds.

The charitable occasion, which brought all the fun of popping to your local salon, to Barton Mills Village Hall, saw Chelsea Titcombe raise £436 for the Hospice.

Chelsea said: “The event was a lot of fun and I was really pleased with how many people came along on the day, I really didn’t expect as many, to be honest.

“It really was like bringing the salon into the hall. We had a lot of different beauty treatments as well as things like reflexology. There was also a tombola and a guess the name of the teddy bear competition which added to the funds.”

Chelsea, who works at Halcyon Days in Bury St Edmunds, was spurred on in her fundraising after she decided to do it in memory of one of her former clients.

“I am just glad I was able to do something to help the Hospice so it can continue to offer the amazing care and support it does,” said Chelsea.

With the event taking place on December 3, Chelsea visited the charity’s Bury Hospice to hand over the funds.

Miranda McCoy, a Hospice Community Fundraiser, said: “I am really grateful to Chelsea for thinking of the Hospice when she decided to do some fundraising – everyone deserves a little pampering now and again.

“The support we receive from our fundraisers is vital as it enables the hospice to continue caring for people with long-term and life-threatening illnesses and their families.”
