New group will offer vital support to adults living with cancer
Several organisations have come together to help set up a new group in Newmarket which will support adults affected by cancer.
The first session of the Living with Cancer: A Support Group for All Adults will take place on Tuesday, 7 February, in the Moller Room at the Racing Centre, Fred Archer Way, from 2pm to 4pm.
The sessions are supported by St Nicholas Hospice Care, Macmillan Cancer Support, the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Forest Heath Primary Care Network, and Racing Welfare. They will continue on the first Tuesday of every month at the Racing Centre.
Being diagnosed with cancer at any age comes with many challenges. At each session, it’s intended that this group will provide a safe space to exchange support and information and receive guidance from health and social care professionals whilst discussing the unique challenges of living with a cancer diagnosis.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and you do not need to have a connection to any of the organisations supporting the group to do so. If you think it could help you, please come along. Refreshments will also be available. Friends, family and carers are also welcome.
