Santa hats and running shoes bring festive cheer to West Stow for St Nic’s Festive Fun Run
West Stow Country Park was awash with festive spirit on Sunday, 30 November, as the community came together for the third annual St Nicholas Hospice Care Festive Fun Run, proudly sponsored by Havebury Homes.
With the sound of Christmas classics in the air and Santa hats at the ready, 214 participants of all ages and abilities ran, jogged, and walked their way around the 1.5K, 2.5K, and 5K cross-country routes. The event village buzzed with food stalls, games, and holiday cheer, making it a day to remember for families and friends alike.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, the event raised an outstanding £7,670.62, which will go directly towards supporting St Nicholas Hospice Care’s vital work across West Suffolk and Thetford.
Charlie De-Moore, Events Manager at St Nicholas Hospice Care, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the turnout and the fantastic atmosphere at this year’s Festive Fun Run. Seeing so many people come together in support of the Hospice, donning their Santa hats and sharing in the festive spirit, was heart-warming.
“Every step taken and every pound raised will help us continue to provide compassionate care and support to those who need us most. Thank you to everyone who took part, volunteered, or donated. You have made a real difference. Our thanks also go to our sponsor Havebury Homes.”
St Nicholas Hospice Care is dedicated to providing high-quality, specialist palliative care, as well as emotional and practical support, so that no one in West Suffolk and Thetford has to face dying, death, or grief alone, and fundraising events like the Festive Fun Run are vital to sustaining care for the community.
