Saddle up for the St Nic’s Cycle Ride a new challenge for a great cause

Cyclists of all abilities are invited to take part in a brand-new charity challenge in support of St Nicholas Hospice Care.

The St Nic’s Cycle Ride, taking place on Sunday, 11 May 2025, is set to replace the Edge Cycle Ride with fresh routes which will bring exciting new challenges for riders.

Sponsored by Atkins Dellow, the ride will once again see the hospice team up with event partner Maglia Rosso Cycling Centre, offering a fantastic day of cycling while raising vital funds for hospice care in West Suffolk and Thetford.

Rob Dellow, Partner at Atkins Dellow said: “It’s a pleasure to sponsor this year’s cycle ride once again in support of St Nicholas Hospice Care. Giving back to our community is important to us, and this event is a fantastic way to do just that.

“The hospice provides invaluable care and support to so many local families, and we’re delighted to play a small part in helping with this. Over the years, lots of our team have thoroughly enjoyed taking part – especially on the downhill stretches! It’s always a great day out, and we look forward to another successful ride this year.”

Participants can choose from on-road routes of 25km, 50km, and 100km, catering to a variety of abilities. For those looking for something a little different, a 65km gravel route will combine both road and off-road tracks for a more adventurous experience.

All participants will receive a bespoke medal, a goody bag sponsored by Atkins Dellow and Maglia Rosso, and access to refreshment stops along the route.

Charlie De-Moore, the hospice’s events manager, said: “We are thrilled to launch the St Nic’s Cycle Ride and bring our community together for a day of fun, challenge, and fundraising.

“Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or new to long-distance riding, this event is for everyone. By taking part, you’re not only achieving a personal goal but also making a real difference to local people facing dying, death, and grief.

“We’d also urge everyone to turn their ride into a fundraiser and seek sponsorship to help boost the total the event will raise for the hospice.”

Cyclists can secure their spot at a discounted rate by registering before Thursday, 6 March 2025. So don’t delay register online now and take advantage of the early bird offer, with sign-ups set at £20 each.
