Michelle made the jump to raise funds for Hospice

A daughter leapt into her fundraising for a local hospice in memory of her mum.

With support of her family who were all there to cheer her on Michelle Metcalfe took on her high-altitude challenge and raised £605 for St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Michelle’s skydive, which took place on May 5, at Beccles Airfield, marked the fifth anniversary of her mother Janet Gardiner’s death.

Janet received care and support from the hospice and Michelle wanted to be able to give something back to the charity while remembering her mum.

Michelle said: “It was amazing, fun and really good to do it for the hospice. I’m not sure if I would do it for fun, but it was amazing to raise money for a very good cause”

Michelle raised the funds through sponsorship, with colleagues and clients from Perfect Touch salon – as well as her family and friends supporting her sky high fundraising mission.

The funds Michelle has raised will continue to help fund the services the hospice provides across West Suffolk and Thetford. The hospice cares for and supports people in the community as well as providing services from its hospice in Bury St Edmunds.

For those willing to take their leap of faith all in the name of a good cause the hospice will be holding its own skydive day at Beccles Airfield on  Sunday, 16 July.

Those wanting to take part can either pay for the jump themselves at £200, with anything else raised sponsorship for the Hospice or the hospice can pay for your jump, but you must raise a minimum of £300.
