Golfers raised thousands for our Hospice
Golfers hit a hole in one for charity as they raised thousands for us.
Bury St Edmunds Golf Club raised more than £6,500 when they held their annual Captains’ Charity Day.
Half of the money raised will go to the Hospice after women’s captain Joan Garrett selected us as her charity of the year. The other half will go to the East Anglian Air Ambulance, the chosen charity of the men’s captain.
Community fundraiser George Chilvers said: “On behalf of everyone at the Hospice I would like to say a big thank you to Joan and everyone at the Bury St Edmunds Golf Club for their wonderful support.
“The event raised a fantastic amount and the funds donated to the Hospice will make a huge difference to us. They will help us continue to provide the very best care and support for those we help in the final chapters of their lives.”
The charity day took place on Friday 8 July at the golf club’s course in Tut Hill and saw 27 teams enter the competition.
