Howards FC goals turned into cash
Football fun for all the family organised by Bury St Edmunds’ Howards FC has raised £670 .
The energetic occasion saw Howards FC ’s current and veteran squad members pull on their football boots all in the name of a good cause to play the match, which wasn’t short of goals.
After a competitive 90 minutes Howards FC’s current team emerged victorious winning the match 5-3.
St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Community Fundraiser, George Chilvers, said: “One of the best things about this event was that it brought people of all ages together to have some fun while raising awareness for the Hospice.
“To provide the services it does the Hospice needs to raise £11,000 each and every day, and without fundraisers like everyone at Howards FC we would not be able to continue to help all of the people we do across West Suffolk and Thetford.
“A big thank you to everyone who organised the event and all of those who went along to support them.”
The football match was followed by a barbecue and karaoke, which added to the team’s fundraising total.
