Get involved and support a local charity as hospice unveils 2026 events programme

St Nicholas Hospice Care is inviting the community to start 2026 all for a good cause by asking people to get involved with its exciting calendar of fundraising events for the year ahead.

The Hospice is encouraging supporters to beat the winter blues by registering for early access, which will mean they’ll hear about event registrations and sign-ups opening before anyone else.

With sign-ups for its flagship fundraising event, the Sunset Walk, opening on January 19, the Hospice hopes the community will show their support by signing up early for this and a range of other activities.

The Sunset Walk, sponsored by Greene King, returns for its third year on Saturday 20 June, and promises to be a truly special evening for individuals and families across West Suffolk and Thetford.

Walkers can choose between a 10km or 15km route, both filled with live music and entertainment, with quieter moments offering a meaningful way for people to come together to remember those special to them.

Whether walking solo or as part of a family or team, every step taken helps bridge the daily funding gap of over £18,000 needed to keep St Nicholas Hospice Care running.

Charlie De-Moore, event manager at St Nicholas Hospice Care, said: “We’re thrilled to launch our 2026 events programme and give our community the chance to be first in line for early registration.

“Our events are about more than fundraising. They’re about creating moments of joy, reflection, and togetherness.

“The Sunset Walk is always a highlight, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for an unforgettable evening. By joining us, you’re making a real difference for local families.”

The 2026 events line-up is packed with opportunities for everyone to get involved and make a difference.

Alongside the Sunset Walk, supporters can look forward to the St Nicholas Hospice Care 10K Run, St Nic’s Cycle Ride, Festive Fun Run, Open Garden events, plus corporate events such as clay pigeon shooting, and exciting challenges including firewalking and trekking.
