Fundraiser takes her exercise classes online to support a good cause
With her physical classes in the community on pause for the moment, Yoga instructor Jackie Samways has decided to take her classes, which usually take place in Bressingham Village Hall, Shelfanger Village Hall and Mellis Memorial Hall online in aid of the Hospice.
With classes taking place via Zoom and lesson plans also emailed out Jackie’s students offered to pay to take part.
Instead, Jackie has asked that all money be donated to the charity, which supports those facing dying, caring and grief, in memory of her dad Brian Cranch who was supported by the Hospice in October 2018.
Speaking about staff, Jackie, said: “They were kind, caring, professional and absolutely marvellous in their care not only of my Dad but my mum Carol and brothers John and Stephen.
“This is our small way of helping your organisation during this time.”
So far, Jackie has raised more than £500.
George Chilvers, the hospice’s community manager, said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to Jackie. Not on is she raising much-needed funds for the hospice, she is also helping to keep the community active during these difficult weeks.
“We appreciate Jackie’s kindness and the generosity of those taking part in the virtual classes, and her brother Stephen for lending his technical skills too.”
