Fashion Fusion set for stylish return
Fashionable fundraising looks set to take the catwalk by storm as a stylish event in aid of the Hospice returns to The Apex.
The catwalk event Fashion Fusion, which raises vital funds will take place at The Apex on Friday, 4 May, with organisers hoping the event will be bigger than ever.
It is hoped the stylish occasion, the sixth of its kind, will see hundreds fashion lovers eager to see the latest key trends and styles from a selection of Bury’s high street and independent retailers pack into the venue.
Joanna Rayner, St Edmundsbury’s cabinet member for leisure and culture, said: “St Nicholas Hospice Care does such great work, so naturally we are delighted to support Fashion Fusion.
“The show has now become part of The Apex’s annual calendar and all of the team at The Apex and I wish the hospice every success and another fun-filled, sell-out show in May.”
All of the money raised by the event, which last year added up to an amazing £10,211.32, will help the Hospice to continue to care for people across the area coping with long-term and life-limiting illnesses.
Abby Mayes, hospice corporate fundraiser, said: “Fashion Fusion manages to successfully combine glamour and community support so well, and it is so exciting for us to see how the event has grown.
“Since the first event in 2011 more than £30,000 has been raised, this is a fantastic sum, which has really made a huge difference to us, the people we support and their families.
“We are so pleased that The Apex has decided to support the hospice once again. Thank you to everyone who is supporting and sponsoring the occasion.”
As well as being able to enjoy the show, which will feature a selection of top seasonal must-haves, guests will also be able to peruse a selection of fashion and beauty related stalls in The Apex’s upstairs lounge before the show and during its intermission.
The event starts with a drinks reception at 7pm before the show at 7.30pm. There will also be a raffle, with all proceeds going to the Hospice.
The event is kindly sponsored by Robinsons, Javelin, West Suffolk College, Our Bury St Edmunds, the Bury Free Press, Velvet Magazine, Sodexo Prestige, Greene King and Premier Printers.
Tickets, which are available now at an early bird price of £15, include a welcome drink, interval popcorn and entry into a prize draw.
After January 31, tickets will cost £18. Tickets are available from The Apex’s website, or by calling 01284 758000.
