Cup of Love will raise funds for Hospice

The efforts of two local businesses will see a cup of something special raise funds for those across the community coping with long-term and life-threatening illnesses.

Bury St Edmunds based flavourings and ingredients company Treatt and the Coffee House, which has branches in Moreton Hall and Ixworth, have joined forces with their latest fundraising efforts for St Nicholas Hospice Care – the Cup of Love.

The unique flavour was developed by scientists at Treatt who are passionate about creating new and exciting flavours.

Lamia Gamin, applications specialist at Treatt, said: “We pictured a warm summer’s day with the sun shining, the faint perfume of English roses and the gentle sound of bees buzzing amongst the flowers.

“It is our job to take an idea and make it reality and we really enjoyed the challenge.”

The Cup of Love will be available until the 31 October and will be sold at a number of the Hospice’s events, including the charity’s annual moonlight walk Girls Night Out.

Jessica Darnell of The Coffee House said: “We are absolutely over the moon to have been working with the fabulous young scientists from Treatt who have helped with the development of our new Cup of Love.

“By mixing flavour notes such as cardamom and honey – known for their healing properties – and the beautiful mellow scent of rose – evoking memories of love, sunshine and happier times – the final blend is simple and works so well together in the finished product.”

The Cup of Love syrup, can be added to either a milkshake or latte and with 50p from each sale going to the Hospice, drinkers will be able to raise their cups in the name of a good cause.

Rachel Card, St Nicholas Hospice Care corporate fundraiser, said: “We are so grateful to Treatt and the Coffee House for their continued support.

“Both businesses have generously supported the Hospice over a number of years but their joint Cup of Love fundraising initiative is something really special.

“Not only will the money raised help us fund the hospice services those we care for rely on, the sale of the Cup of Love will also help create awareness for the Hospice.”
