10K runners raise more than £30,000 for us
Hundreds of runners in Bury St Edmunds hit the streets to raise more than £30,000 for St Nicholas Hospice Care.
The St Nicholas Hospice Care 10K Run attracted 515 participants on Sunday (September 28), and while sponsorship money is still coming in, the event has so far raised £34,577.
Runners of all abilities started and finished on Angel Hill, with a scenic circular route through the Abbey Gardens, along closed roads, out to Moreton Hall and back into town.
Charlie De-Moore the hospice’s events manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the success of this year’s St Nicholas Hospice Care 10K Run. The atmosphere on Sunday was fantastic, with runners of all abilities coming together in support of our Hospice and the community we serve. Everyone’s energy and enthusiasm made it a memorable day for everyone involved.
“We are grateful to every runner who took part, to our dedicated volunteers, and to our generous sponsors, our main sponsor Skechers Performance and our medal sponsor Bluesys IT Services.
“Thank you to everyone who cheered on our runners, supported our cause, and helped make the event such a wonderful success. We look forward to welcoming you all again next year.”
