Event Photography
Photography will often take place during our Hospice fundraising events. The photographs may be used for promotional purposes, including on our website, social media channels, and in printed materials to raise awareness and support for our cause.
Official Event Photographers
Official event photographers will be identifiable at the event by a Hospice name badge and often a blue Hospice jacket or T-shirt.
Legal Basis for Processing
The processing of photographs is carried out under the legal basis of legitimate interests, as outlined in Article 6(1)(f) of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legitimate interest is to document and promote our fundraising activities to support the hospice’s mission.
We may request to use your photo with your name if we want it linked to a story, or primarily the photo focuses on you. In these circumstances, we will ask for your consent as outlined in Article 6 (1) (a) of the UK General Data Protection Regulations.
Your Rights
We respect your privacy rights and will not capture or use your image if you object. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform a member of our staff or the photographer at the event, and we will ensure that your preferences are respected.
You have the right to request access to, or the deletion of, any personal data we hold about you, including photographs, as well as the right to object to the processing. Data Retention
Photographs will be stored securely and retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes stated above.

Third Parties
On the day of an event, representatives from the local media, hobbyists and other organisations may attend. This includes reporters, photographers, and videographers. During the event, they may wish to speak to you, take photographs or record a short interview. It is your decision whether to agree to their request. St Nicholas Hospice Care does not have any influence over how the information you share with them is used, or when and where images may appear. If you have any concerns on the day, please speak to a member of the Events Team from St Nicholas Hospice Care.

When you register to take part in our Hospice fundraising events, we collect personal information such as your name, contact details, and any other relevant information necessary to facilitate your participation.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data based on your consent, as required under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By providing your details, you consent to us using your information to manage your participation in the event.
Marketing Communications
If you opt in, we will also use your contact details to send you updates about future events and hospice activities. You can withdraw your consent to receive marketing communications at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in our emails or contacting us directly at marketing@stnh.org.uk.
