Hospice set to showcase its bridal wear with Cathedral display

If the sound of wedding bells is ringing in your ears then visiting a charity shop’s bridal wear display might help you find some of the things you need for your big day.

St Nicholas Hospice Care’s St John’s Street shop will be displaying some of their bridal wear in St Edmundsbury Cathedral’s cloisters from Monday, 21 November, to Monday, 19 December.

On show will be a whole range of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, suits, shoes, bags and accessories.

Thomas Vowles, manager at the hospice’s St John’s Street Shop said: “We are so excited to have the opportunity to display some of our amazing bridal wear and accessories in the Cathedral’s cloisters again, and we are grateful to the Cathedral for supporting us.

“We might not immediately come to mind when thinking about your wedding, but our St John’s Street shop really has some beautiful wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, accessories and much more.

“At a time when most are having to be mindful of spending we want to showcase that we have some high-quality pre-loved items fit for anyone’s big day. Prices for our dresses start at just £50 so they are such good value.

“We also have a range of styles too, so if you are planning your wedding, please pop down and see us. We might be able to help, and importantly by buying from us, you will be helping us to fund our services, which are so important to so many people.”

Everything on display in the cloisters will be available for at the hospice’s boutique shop in St John’s Street.

The independent dry cleaners Farthing’s (17 Whiting Street, Bury St Edmunds & 5c Wellington Street, Newmarket) are offering a 20% discount on professional cleaning for any bridal wear bought from St Nic’s. A receipt must be shown.
