Festive Fun Run Frequently Asked Questions
Will there be parking at the event?
Yes. There will be free parking available on site.
What should I wear?
We encourage everyone to dress up in festive-themed attire and enjoy the jolly atmosphere. However, it is also important that you dress appropriately for the weather, and wear layered clothing if it is wet and cold; this is especially important for young children. The terrain may be uneven or slippery, so wearing running shoes which cover your whole foot and provide good ankle support is also recommended.
Is the event chip timed?
No, but you are welcome to use your own running apps or devices to time your run.
Are dogs allowed?
West Stow Country Park is a dog-friendly site, and dogs are permitted to join their owners on the route, but they must be kept on a lead at all times. Please be a responsible owner and pick up any mess from your dogs.
Can I bring a pushchair or buggy?
Yes. Upon registration, you can let us know if you will have any children under the age of 5 accompanying you, for whose entry will be free. Please be mindful that the course takes place on pathways and tracks through the West Stow Country Park, not on pavement or road, and so may be uneven or slippery.
Can I take part if I use a wheelchair or have limited mobility?
Anyone, regardless of age and ability, can take part in this event – the event is not a race, and participants can run or walk the route. The course takes place on cross-country pathways and tracks through the West Stow Country Park, not on pavement or road, and therefore may not be suitable for wheelchair users. If you have any further questions, please email events@stnh.org.uk.
Will there be food and drink on site?
Yes. There will be a food truck selling hot food and drink to participants and bystanders, plus water and refreshments will be provided to all those taking part.
Can I sign up on the day?
Yes, however, we recommend you sign up online prior to the event to guarantee entry with a Santa hat, kids’ activity sheet and medal. If you decide to sign up on the day, please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start time to allow enough time for our volunteers to take your registration.
What happens if the event is cancelled?
If the event is cancelled due to very bad weather or unforeseeable circumstances, we would seek to provide an alternative date or offer a refund to participants.
Can my friends/family come along to watch me?
Yes, of course! There will be food, drink, stalls and games in the event village, which bystanders are welcome to partake in. All child bystanders must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
For all further questions, please refer to our Terms and Conditions, or email events@stnh.org.uk.
