Charity draw raises £400

Valerie Stokes handed over £400 from her charity draw to St Nicholas Hospice Care following her latest round of fundraising which she has supported for a number of years as it helped care for her husband.

Valerie said: “I have supported the Hospice for about three years and I am glad to be able to do something to help a local charity.”

The sum was raised by a draw held at the Home Guard Club. Valerie was helped in her charitable efforts by friends June Jackson and Diane Holder. The draw also raised funds for two other charities.

Hospice Community Fundraiser Miranda McCoy said: “Valerie’s continued support for the hospice is much appreciated. The money raised by the Home Guard Club draw will help us to continue to provide the help and support for all the people in our care.”
