Charitable golfers’ fundraising efforts have raised thousands of pounds
Bury St Edmunds Golf Club has raised more than £9,500 for two good causes after numerous charitable occasions including their annual Captains’ Charity Day.
Half of the money raised by Bury St Edmunds Golf Club, some £4,750, will go to St Nicholas Hospice Care after women’s captain Joan Garrett selected the Hospice as her charity of the year. The other half will go to the East Anglian Air Ambulance, the chosen charity of the men’s captain.
Hospice Community fundraiser George Chilvers said: “On behalf of everyone at the Hospice I would like to say a big thank you to Joan and everyone at the Bury St Edmunds Golf Club for their wonderful support.
“The amount raised by Bury Golf Club is fantastic and the funds donated to the Hospice will make a huge difference to us.
“They will help us continue to provide the very best care and support for those we help across our community whether that is in their own home, our outreach facility in Haverhill or at the Hospice.”
Bury St Edmunds Golf Club raised more than £6,500 when they held their annual Captains’ Charity Day last year also. Read more about their efforts here.
