Hospice care is provided free of charge.

But it is not free to provide.

Many people are surprised to learn that hospice care relies heavily on the generosity of local people, fundraising and charitable donations.

Every contribution helps ensure local families can access hospice care when they need it most.

Did you know?

Hospice care is mostly funded by our community.

While we work closely with the NHS, only 32% of our funding comes from NHS sources.

The remaining 68% must be raised through donations, fundraising, gifts in Wills, retail income and other charitable support.

Every service we provide depends on the generosity of local people helping to ensure hospice care is available for everyone who needs it.

Today, around 1 in 5 people receiving support from St Nicholas Hospice Care is cared for thanks to someone who chose to leave a gift in their Will.
