Enjoy the timeless elegance of the Artie Shaw Clarinet Concerto and highlights from the award-winning musical Chicago, featuring some of the show’s most unforgettable melodies.

At the heart of the evening is George Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue, performed by Jill Morton, whose captivating piano performance brings this timeless masterpiece to life.

The excitement continues with Arturo Márquez’s electrifying Danzón No. 2, a vibrant Latin American favourite loved around the world for its irresistible rhythms, colour and energy.

The West Suffolk Symphonic Wind Band is one of the region’s leading community ensembles, bringing together talented musicians from across Suffolk and beyond to perform an exciting and varied repertoire.

Known for its high-quality performances and engaging concert programmes, the band performs regularly throughout the year, showcasing everything from classical works and film music to contemporary compositions and audience favourites.

Committed to musical excellence and community engagement, the band provides opportunities for musicians of all backgrounds to perform together while sharing the enjoyment of live music with audiences across the region. About the band

Featuring Jill Morton

Jill Morton is a distinguished pianist, educator and chamber musician recognised for her dynamic performances and commitment to music education.

She has appeared as a concerto soloist with orchestras throughout Britain and has performed on BBC Radio’s Friday Night is Music Night with the BBC Concert Orchestra. Upcoming engagements include performances of Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

Alongside her performing career, Jill is a Principal Tutor for the Piano Teachers’ Course UK, a tutor for leading piano summer schools, creator of a YouTube channel with more than three million views, and founder of Encore! Concerts for All, Big and Small.
