Hospice publishes Quality Accounts for 2023-24
St Nicholas Hospice Care has published its Quality Accounts for 2023/24, which focus on our clinical services.
Our Quality Account does more than just summarise the quality of our clinical services. It celebrates our achievements from the past year and sets exciting priorities for enhancing our services.
The accounts provide an overview of the vital work we are doing for our communities – providing care to local people, their friends and families, where and when they need it most, and it outlines the actions we wish to take to improve and develop our care and services.
Some of our highlights include:
- The activities and events that have been celebrating our 40th anniversary.
- Our robust infection prevention measures which have kept our community safe, with a high compliance rate in staff training and successful management of Covid-19 incidents.
- Our extensive training sessions and participation in significant research projects like the CHELsea II clinical trial demonstrate our dedication to continuous learning and improvement in palliative care.
- Our Memorable Moments Fund, which brings joy and comfort to patients and their families. This year we used part of this fund to purchase outdoor lights for the Hospice’s garden. At dusk, all year round, the gardens come to life with these twinkling lights.
Our Quality Accounts are endorsed by the Board of Trustees as an accurate reflection of our services and is scrutinised externally by NHS commissioners. Producing a Quality Account is a legal requirement for all healthcare services that receive NHS funding. Our Annual Quality Account for 2023/24 includes data from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
