Sign up for 18-mile challenge and support St Nic’s

In October, the Bury to Clare Autumn Challenge, which will raise funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care, will take place, and challengers are being encouraged to sign up and either walk or run the 18-mile distance.

Organised by hospice supporter Kevin Marshall and the Positive Steps team, the liner route starts at Nowton Park in Bury and finishes at Clare Country Park and will follow a route over the gently undulating West Suffolk countryside.

Over the years, Kevin and the Positive Steps team have organised many challenges to support the hospice raising more than £67,000.

Charlie De-Moore, the hospice’s events fundraiser, said: “We are so grateful to Kevin and the Positive Steps team for choosing to support us yet again by organising the Bury to Clare Autumn Challenge.

“They all work so hard to put on brilliant events that raise much-needed funds for the hospice, generosity we rely on to keep caring for people and their families across West Suffolk and Thetford at the most difficult times of their lives.

“The Bury to Clare route takes you through some picturesque countryside, and it really is an enjoyable and achievable challenge. Please sign up to support St Nic’s.”

The route will be clearly marked, and those taking part will need to be able to finish it within eight hours.

All finishers will receive a bespoke medal to mark their achievement.

You can find out more and register for the challenge, which takes place on Sunday, 17 October, by visiting https://positivestepspt.co.uk/events/bury-to-clare-autumn-challenge-2021.

Entries cost either £26 or £28, and £5 from each entry fee will go directly to the hospice.

To help support the event, volunteers are also needed. If you think you could help, please email Charlie.De-Moore@stnh.org.uk.
