Get your thinking caps on for a good cause
A local charity is on the lookout for people willing to put their knowledge to the test and put their brainpower behind their new community quiz event.
St Nicholas Hospice Care is appealing for pubs and community groups willing to be part of its new fundraiser Let’s Get Quizzical, which takes place on Thursday, 30 January.
George Chilvers, the hospice’s community fundraising manager, said: “We hope as many people as possible will support our new Let’s Get Quizzical event.
“Whether you are a keen quizzer or a local pub or community venue planning your next competitive quiz, why not test your knowledge in aid of St Nic’s.
“January can be a quiet month for a number of pubs, so we’d like to encourage people to support their local and the hospice, even if you’re replacing your usual glass of wine with a glass of apple juice.”
The hospice will be providing the same quiz questions to all of the venues; all our hosts will need is a quizmaster to read them out.
The winner of each quiz will then be invited to a champion of champions’ event taking place in February.
All funds raised will support the charity, which cares for those across West Suffolk and Thetford living with dying, death and grief.
If you think your local pub, or community venue might be willing to host a quiz, please ask them to get in touch by emailing supportercare@stnh.org.uk.
