Festival sees thousands raised for hospice
Festival-goers who raised their glasses have helped to raise thousands for good causes.
The Pakenham Beer and Music Festival proved to be a bumper fundraising event for St Nicholas Hospice Care after organisers raised a fantastic £2,000 for the charity, which supports those living with dying, death and grief.
Miranda McCoy, St Nicholas Hospice Care’s community fundraiser, said: “I would just like to thank everyone behind The Pakenham Beer and Music Festival for their hard work and dedication. To have raised such a brilliant amount is fantastic and I am so grateful they chose St Nicholas Hospice Care as one of their charities to support.
“Thank you also to everyone who attended and supported the event, the community spirit was fabulous. The money raised will make a huge difference to us and the families we support across West Suffolk and Thetford.”
The occasion also raised £2,000 for St Elizabeth Hospice and £500 for the Pakenham Village Hall and Playing Fields Association, which will go towards a children’s play area.
