Hospice set to hold its first Pumpkin Parade

A new event filled with plenty of smashing pumpkins will be fun for the whole family.

For the first time this year, the Hospice will be holding its very own Pumpkin Parade and the charity is hoping as many children and their families as possible will come along and enjoy the event.

Taking place on Saturday, 27 October, the occasion will see children complete a specially designed 1km walk around the charity’s Bury St Edmunds Hospice grounds in Hardwick Lane.

The route will be lined with pumpkins and youngsters are welcome to dress up in pumpkin-themed outfits if they wish.

Emma Clements, the Hospice’s Major Events Fundraiser, said: “This is a new event for the hospice and we are all excited to see how it goes.

“We have wanted to hold an event for children at the hospice for quite some time and when we came up with the idea for the Pumpkin Parade it just seemed perfect.

“We have carefully selected the route around the hospice’s grounds and we will be making sure it’s specially decorated for the occasion too.”

It costs £5 per child to take part in the event, which runs from 11am until 1pm. All funds raised will go to support the charity, which cares for those across the area with long-term and life-threatening illnesses.

Those who want to can raise funds for the Hospice by asking their friends and family to sponsor their walk.
