Family hope second music night will prove a hit

A family organising charity music night is hoping it will be a fitting tribute to a much-loved mother and wife.

The night of music, which is being organised in memory of Sheila Empson by her husband Peter and daughters Sandra Bennett and Beverley Rees, will raise funds for the Hospice.

Sheila spent the last few days of her life in the Hospice and the family is keen to raise as much as they can in recognition of the care and support they received.

The event, which is the second charity night organised by Sheila’s family, will take place at Lakenheath Village Hall on April 21.

Featuring a mix of country and folk music the family hope the occasion will be a fitting tribute, honouring Sheila’s love of music and dancing a passion she shared with her husband Peter.

Peter will once again be taking centre stage when he drums alongside his band On the Road Again which he re-joined last year at the age of 80, after a ten year break.

With last year’s event, raising £1,315 for the Hospice the family are hopeful people will once again support them with their charitable endeavours by buying tickets.

Miranda McCoy, a hospice community fundraiser, said: “Last year the Empson family pulled off a brilliant event which raised a fantastic amount for our charity. I am so grateful they have decided to support us again.

“I hope everyone will get behind them and join them for what promises to be a great night out with some fabulous music.”

Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased from Lakenheath News or by calling Peter on 01842 860917.
