Fundraising friends raise cash for charity
The kettle boiled all in the name of a good cause as a charitable coffee morning in Newmarket raised more than £1,000 for the Hospice.
Libby Grimster and Rachel Preen teamed-up to hold their fundraising coffee morning which raised £1,011 .
It is the third time the event, which took place in Libby’s Malvern Close garden, has taken place and with 38 people attending the occasion the pair are grateful for everyone’s support.
Libby said: “We were very lucky with the weather. It was a lovely morning and it was lovely to see so many neighbours and friends come along. Everyone was so kind and generous and I am so pleased with the amount raised.”
Libby and Rachel were both spurred on with their fundraising efforts in memory of loved ones they have lost.
Rachel said: “The Hospice is such a special place and we are proud to be able to support it. The care and support they give makes such a difference. It is such a worthwhile cause and we are so pleased everyone was so generous.”
As well as a section of cakes, the event, which took place on August 14, also featured a variety of savoury snacks.
Some £460 was raised on the day, and with match funding from HSBC and other donations the total grew to £1,011.
