Enabling the Haverhill community to receive support locally
From drop-in groups to specialised support
Support services offered at the Haverhill Hub
The team is on hand to provide a listening ear and a cup of tea; while those requiring specialist palliative care are able to access our wider clinical services via the centre.
On a day-to-day basis a variety of groups are run at the hub, anything from Open House sessions, which offer the opportunity for people to come together for peer support, to more focused groups supporting people with a specific need.
In addition Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Complementary Therapists from the Hospice’s Independent Living Team visit the hub throughout the week to offer specialised support to those who have been referred to the hub, either by the Hospice, their GP or through our self-referral process.
What support is available?
The Hub enables people to live as independently as possible
An arts and crafts group where people can explore various crafts including card making, clay modeling, jewellery making and painting.
A monthly group providing a mixture of education, exercise, peer support and relaxation to help those struggling with breathlessness to be able to cope with this debilitating symptom.
Dementia Support Group
The sessions are designed to offer support to those with dementia, their carers and those who have been bereaved as a result of the disease.
