The impact of the referendum result on the Hospice
Whilst Britain has voted to leave the EU in the recent referendum, the impact of this decision on our country and economy is not entirely clear. The financial markets rarely react well to uncertainty and so the current turmoil we are seeing is to be expected in the short term. What is not particularly clear is how long this will last and when things will stabilise.
St Nicholas Hospice Care is in a good financial position, in that we have built up funds to protect ourselves from threats to our income; however, we are not immune to the events around us which may impact on the value of our investment funds and the ability to raise new funds. So, we need to be vigilant in how we control our costs to make sure we use our resources to reach more of the people and families we are here to support.
As we go through this time of uncertainty, the Board of Trustees together will be monitoring the situation and making sure our plans stand up to the challenges ahead. If you have any questions or concerns, please do get in touch with the Hospice.
In the meantime, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your role in making St Nicholas Hospice Care the successful and much loved organisation that it is.
