Find out more about becoming a trustee and supporting St Nic’s

We are looking to recruit a number of new Trustees and are inviting those who think they may be able to fulfil the role to attend information events to find out more.

There will be two information sessions taking place in December, and a warm invitation to anyone who wants to find out more is extended. The first session, which will take place virtually, will take place on December 7 at 6pm, and there will be another session at the charity’s Hardwick Lane Hospice site on December 14 at 7pm.

Charles Simpson, the Chair of our Board of Trustees, said: “Our services and support exist not just for patients but for their families and friends too, and we are very keen to hear from people from all walks of life, but especially those with clinical, HR, IT and financial experience, who can work as part of a team in a governance role to provide the direction needed to support the success of the Hospice’s mission.

“A Trustee’s role at St Nic’s is a varied one, and it is an essential one, we want our Board of Trustees to fully represent the communities we care for. One thing that we all need to have in common is that we are passionate about making a real difference to those facing dying, caring and grief.

“With a new Chief Executive Officer taking the reins in December 2021, this is an exciting time to become part of the Hospice family.”

As well as providing services from its hospice site in Bury, we support people facing dying, caring and grief, in the community and in their own homes and offer educational courses for fellow healthcare professionals and the wider community.

It runs its Haverhill Hub, which homes a shop and café. It also has a successful retail operation, which includes eight shops spread across the area and a donation centre, which also homes its new goods, eCommerce and a house clearance team.
