Register your challenge

When?

February 14, 2021

How much?

There is a suggested donation of £20 for those who want to take part, or £10 per person if taking part with others (within a household and/or social bubble or as a socially distanced pair)

This Valentine’s Day instead of pulling out the chocolates and flowers why not put your best foot forward and pull on your trainers and show some love for St Nic’s?

To mark 2021’s most romantic day of the year; the Hospice is encouraging people to take part in its new event The Virtual Valentine’s Challenge.

It is hoped the occasion will see people from across West Suffolk and Thetford walk, jog or run either 14km or 14-miles in a location of their choosing on Sunday, 14 February.

Registrations for the event will be open until 5pm on Friday, 12 February.

There is a suggested donation of £20 for those who want to take part, or £10 per person if taking part with others (within a household and/or social bubble or as a socially distanced pair). All sponsorship money will be gratefully received.

Planning your challenge

When picking your route, we’d ask you to stay local, in line with current government guidelines, and make sure it is an area you are familiar with and pay attention to the terrain, dress suitably and ensure you can undertake your challenge safely.

You can complete your challenge solo, with members of your household/legal bubble or as a pair with one other individual providing social distancing is in place.

If you take on the event with others, you can also split the distance between you, and could even complete your activity in different locations.

Challenges also don’t need to be completed at a set time or within a certain time-frame, so, you can go at your own pace. Challenges should be done during daylight hours.

If you can’t take part on February 14, don’t worry you can do your challenge on another day, just keep it as close to Valentine’s Day as you can.

The Hospice will be paying close attention to all government announcements, and if needed, changes may be made to this event.
