Trustee and Associate Opportunities

Do you have personal or professional experience with dying and bereavement?
Do you feel passionately about ensuring everyone has the best experience in the final chapters of their life?

St Nicholas Hospice Care is looking for people who would like to be a Trustee or Associate to help us deliver our ambitious plan and make a real difference to our community.

Come along to our open evening on Thursday, 2 March from 5pm to 8pm where you can learn more about our work and the role of Trustees

These voluntary roles will see you work with other trustees who, as well as  having a variety of skills, knowledge and experience, are all committed to improving the lives of people and their families facing death or bereavement.

The Hospice, an independent charity delivering care, advice and support within the communities of West Suffolk and Thetford, would particularly like to hear from those with expertise in areas such as finance, IT, healthcare, fundraising or law.

The Board of Trustees meets 10 times a year at our Hospice site in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Trustees with specific skills, backgrounds or interests also support the work of the Board’s four sub-committees, which meet six times a year.

The sub-committees, which are supported by Associates with relevant skills, cover Finance, HR, Income Generation and Marketing, and Clinical Services.

If you would like to express your interest please contact our Chief Executive Barbara Gale, Jane Doughty, HR Director, or Charles Simpson, Chairman of the Board, on 01284 715588 or email
