Michelle Masson – Trustee
I am an FCA and qualified as a chartered accountant with Saffery Champness in London, moving to the Royal Marsden Cancer Hospital as Head of Charity Accounts and was then Director of Finance at the British Science Association.
I moved to Bury St Edmunds to start a family and following a period of maternity leave, I have gone back to working in accountancy practice for the multidisciplinary firm, Churchgates, specialising in farms and charities.
Other community involvement:
I was treasurer for the local branch of the NCT, help out the school PTA and assist some small local charities with their year end accounts.
Why did you become a St Nicholas Hospice Care Trustee?
I have really missed working in a healthcare environment since leaving the Royal Marsden, and have been looking for an opportunity to be a Trustee in this field and so was delighted to have made it through the selection process.
For me, the Hospice provides support, care and hope when it is needed most and I look forward to learning, contributing and assisting more in the challenges ahead.
